Ellen and I got up early and went out to Manassas Regional Airport, where the Experimental Aircraft Association had there B17G- Aluminum Overcast. We signed up for a ride, but... We were on the first light , but about 10 minutes into the flight we were told to seit down and strap in. Oops. No strange engine noises and no frantic movement from the cockpit so not too worried. Turned out a female PAX tripper over a bulkhead and broke her leg. Landed, local Amberlance removed her to the hospital, and EAA treated us to a second, ful ride. There is something about those 4 big recips roaring on take off> This was not my first ride in a B-17G- I did that around 2000 with the Confederate Air Force Sentimental Journey. The EAA operation was professionally done. It was an absolute pleasure to be onboard this A/C-which, was delivered a year before I was. They will be in MD after this. If you have the ability, run- dont walk-for an opportunity to travel in history
