Elliot has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus...however it isnt that easy to treat for Elliot because of his VOGM. We were able to text with Dr. Kaminsky in Boston and Dr. G who is in Switzerland and both think we will definitely need an angio done to verify that the VOGM is still closed and what is causing the water build up. Once that is accomplished it is down to what procedure will be done. 1) shunt that drains to stomach 2) small hole in brain sac to drain to body Both have pros/cons that will be discussed in detail later. We are upset for Elliot because within the last week seemed to throw all the distrust away and is just enjoying life. He has developed in leaps and bounds. We know that this needs to be taken care of...we just want him to live. :/ Dr. G is trying to get back by Tuesday (French pilots are striking) and we hope we know plan by late next week.
