Ellis Announcements for December 17, 2014 Happy Birthday to Katy Pope and Kurt Timms! Friday: Christmas parties are 9:30 – 10:30am. Early out at 12:30pm. Students will eat lunch before dismissal. PTA Labels: please turn in all labels by Friday! Flu season is upon us! There have been confirmed cases of influenza-A in our community so if your child experiences any flu-like symptoms (achiness, respiratory symptoms, fatigue, fever) please keep them home. We understand that attendance is very important, however, please stress to your children that taking care of themselves when sick is just as important. Let’s keep Ellis staff and students healthy throughout the flu season. This week is Christmas Spirit Week! The dress days are: Th - Polar Express Day (pjs) F - Red and Green Day From the counselor: Student Council is doing a material/blanket drive for patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Please send in new blankets, fleece fabric, or donations through Dec 19th. Do you buy from Schwan? If so, from now until Dec 18 you can place a home delivery order online at https://schwans-cares/campaigns/16320-clinton-county-r-iii-pta and 20% of your order total will be donated to support field trips and special assemblies for our students. If you purchase a $25 gift certificate online, PTA will receive 40%! Just designate campaign #16320 on the checkout page. Thank you! If you do not wish to receive text messages, school closings and early dismissal information will still be provided to the local television stations under Clinton County R-3. Absences: Please call the office at 539-2187 or e-mail [email protected] by 10am the day your child is absent from school or leave a message before school hours at ext. 243. If we have no contact with you, a resource officer will be sent to the home to check on the safety of the student. Two hour late starts may be utilized on inclement weather days. In the event of an unscheduled late start, you will be notified by usual means such as local television stations, textcaster, and the school website. The two hour late start will apply to every week day. Therefore, the starting time at Ellis will be 10:28 a.m. and the middle school and high school will begin at 10:22 a.m. no matter which day the late start occurs, even Wednesday.
