Elon Musk has released the images of the first ever barge landing attempt of a 14 story tall Falcon 9 rocket returning at thousands of miles per hour from the edge of space. The goal: Decelerate and hit (softly) a tiny target so you save millions by reusing the rocket. Musk called this past result, A rapid unscheduled dissassembly. The vision: For humans to be a multiplanet species we dramatically reduce costs by reusing rockets. Here is the first barge test landing where the stabilizers ran out of hyrdaulic fluid. 50% more hydraulic fluid has been added to the next test launch. Note: The primary mission was to supply the International Space Station, which occurred successfully. The Dragon capsule is attached to ISS and supplies are unloading. Landing on a barge was an experiment. theverge/2015/1/16/7555633/falcon-9-barge-landing-images-released
