Emaam Sufyan Athwari (r) Said : الْبِدْعَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى إِبْلِيسَ مِنَ الْمَعْصِيَةِ، الْمَعْصِيَةُ يُتَابُ مِنْهَا، وَالْبِدْعَةُ لَا يُتَابُ مِنْهَا Bidah is dearer to Iblees than sin, because a person may repent of sin but he cannot repent of bidah. ഇബ്ലീസിനു മറ്റ് പാപങ്ങളെക്കാള് കൂടുതല് ഇഷ്ട്ടം ബിദ് അത്തുകളോടാണ് ..പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്ക് പശ്ചാത്താപം തോന്നും എന്നാല് ബിദ് അത്ത് കള്ളു കുടിക്കുന്നവന് കുറ്റബോധം ഉണ്ടായി തൗബ ചെയ്യും.. വ്യഭിചരിക്കുന്നവനും അത് തെറ്റാണെന്ന് അറിയാം . പലിശ വാങ്ങിക്കുന്നവനും കളവുകള് പറയുന്നവനും മോഷ്ട്ടിക്കുന്നവനും അത് പോലെയുള്ള മുഴുവന് പാപങ്ങളും അത് ചെയ്യുന്നവര്ക്ക് തെറ്റാണെന്ന് അറിയാം അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു സമയത്ത് അവന് കുറ്റബോധം തോന്നിയിട്ട് അവന് ചിലപ്പോള് പശ്ചാതപിച്ചേക്കാം .. എന്നാല് നബി ദിനം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും ബറാത്ത് നോമ്പ് നോക്കുന്നവനും ദിക്ര് ഹല്ഖ നടത്തുന്നവനും പെട്ടിസ്വലാത്ത് നടത്തുന്നവനും നാരിയ സ്വലാത്ത് ചൊല്ലുന്നവനും അത്പോലുള്ള ബിദ് അത്തുകള് ചെയ്യുന്നവനും കരുതുന്നത് ഇത് നല്ല കാര്യം അല്ലെ ..കൂലി കിട്ടുന്ന കാര്യമല്ലേ എന്ന് കരുതി ആണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത് . അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ അവന് കുറ്റബോധം തോന്നില്ല അവന് തൌബയും ചെയ്യില്ല . അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ﺍﻟﺒﺪﻋﺔ ﺃﺣﺐ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺇﺑﻠﻴﺲ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻤﻌﺼﻴﺔ ﻷﻥ ﺍﻟﻤﻌﺼﻴﺔ ﻳﺘﺎﺏ ﻣﻨﻬﺎ ﻭﺍﻟﺒﺪﻋﺔ ﻻ ﻳﺘﺎﺏ ﻣﻨﻬﺎ. ഇബ്ലീസിനു മറ്റ് പാപങ്ങളെക്കാള് കൂടുതല് ഇഷ്ട്ടം ബിദ് അത്തുകളോടാണ് ... അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ കല്പ്പന പ്രകാരമാണ് നബി (സ) ദീനിലെ ഓരോ കാര്യവും പഠിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് . നല്ലതല്ലേ എന്ന് കരുതി എന്തും ചെയ്യാമെന്ന് ആരും കരുതരുത് . നബി (സ) പഠിപ്പിക്കാത്ത ഒരു പുണ്യ കര്മ്മവും അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ മീസാനില് കനം തൂങ്ങില്ല . അത്തരക്കാരുടെ അവസ്ഥയെക്കുറിച്ച് സൂറത്ത് അല്കഹ്ഫില് അല്ലാഹു പറയുന്നത് കാണുക : 1 8 : 103 - 10 5 قُلْ هَلْ نُنَبِّئُكُم بِالْأَخْسَرِينَ أَعْمَالًا ﴿١٠٣﴾ الَّذِينَ ضَلَّ سَعْيُهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ يُحْسِنُونَ صُنْعًا ﴿١٠٤﴾ أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَلِقَائِهِ فَحَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فَلَا نُقِيمُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَزْنًا ﴿١٠٥﴾ (നബിയേ,) പറയുക: കര്മ്മങ്ങള് ഏറ്റവും നഷ്ടകരമായി തീര്ന്നവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് നാം നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് പറഞ്ഞുതരട്ടെയോ? (103) ഐഹികജീവിതത്തിലെ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രയത്നം പിഴച്ചുപോയവരത്രെ അവര്. അവര് വിചാരിക്കുന്നതാകട്ടെ തങ്ങള് നല്ല പ്രവര്ത്തനം നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നാണ്. (104) തങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളിലും അവനുമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്നതിലും വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവരത്രെ അവര്. അതിനാല് അവരുടെ കര്മ്മങ്ങള് നിഷ്ഫലമായിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാല് നാം അവര്ക്ക് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിന്റെ നാളില് യാതൊരു തൂക്കവും (സ്ഥാനവും) നിലനിര്ത്തുകയില്ല. (105) നബി (സ) പഠിപ്പിച്ചു :ُكُلُّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلاَلَةٌ എല്ലാ പുത്തനാചാരങ്ങളും ദുര്മാര്ഗ്ഗമാണ് . عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إِذَا خَطَبَ احْمَرَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ وَعَلاَ صَوْتُهُ وَاشْتَدَّ غَضَبُهُ حَتَّى كَأَنَّهُ مُنْذِرُ جَيْشٍ يَقُولُ « صَبَّحَكُمْ وَمَسَّاكُمْ ». وَيَقُولُ « بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةَ كَهَاتَيْنِ ». وَيَقْرُنُ بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى وَيَقُولُ « أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ وَخَيْرُ الْهُدَى هُدَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَشَرُّ الأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا وَكُلُّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلاَلَةٌ When the Messenger (alayhis salaam) would deliver a sermon, his eyes would be come red, his voice would be raised, and his anger would be severe, as if he was admonishing an army... and he would say, To proceed, indeed the best speech is the speech of Allaah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad and the worst of affairs (in the religion) are the newly-invented matters, and every innovation is misguidance. നബി (സ) പഠിപ്പിച്ചു عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ رَدٌ Whoever introduces into this affair of ours that which does not belong to it, will have it rejected മഹാന്മാരായ മുന്ഗാമികള് പറയുന്നത് കാണുക : Imaam Malik : وَلَا يَصْلُحُ آخِرُ هَذِه الْأُمَّةِ إلَّا مَا أصْلَحَ أوَّلَهَا وَلَمْ يَبْلُغْنِي عَنْ أَوَّلِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ وَصَدْرِهَا أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ The last generations of this ummah can only be reformed by that which reformed its first generations. What was not part of the religion then cannot become part of the religion now (Shifaa) قَالَ ابْنُ الْمَاجِشُونِ: سَمِعْتُ مَالِكًا يَقُولُ: مَنِ ابْتَدَعَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ بِدْعَةً يَرَاهَا حَسَنَةً، زَعَمَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَانَ الرِّسَالَةَ، لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: {الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ} [المائدة: 3] ، فَمَا لَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دِينًا، فَلَا يَكُونُ الْيَوْمَ دِينًا. 2:Fuday bin Iyaad: فضيل بن عياض يقول : « إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عِبَادًا يُحْيى بِهِمُ الْعِبَادُ وَالْبِلَادُ وَهُمْ أَصْحَابُ سُنَّةٍ مَنْ كَانَ يَعْقِلُ مَا يَدْخُلُ جَوْفَهُ مِنْ حِلِّهِ كَانَ فِي حِزْبِ اللهِ تَعَالَى Allah has slaves through whom He will revive the land. They are the followers of the Sunnah (Lalakaee) عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ: اتَّبِعْ طُرُقَ الْهُدَى وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ قِلَّةُ السَّالِكِينَ، وَإِيَّاكَ وَطُرُقَ الضَّلَالَةِ وَلَا تَغْتَرَّ بِكَثْرَةِ الْهَالِكِينَ Al-Fudayl ibn Iyaad (may Allah have mercy on him) who said: Follow the path of guidance, and do not worry about how few are the people who follow it. Beware of the paths of misguidance, and do not be decieved by the large numbers of those who doomed. 3:Abdullah bin Mubarak عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ: «أَعْلَمُ أَنِّي أَرَى أَنَّ الْمَوْتَ الْيَوْمَ كَرَامَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَلَى السُّنَّةِ , فَإِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ , فَإِلَى اللَّهِ نَشْكُو وَحْشَتَنَا , وَذَهَابَ الْإِخْوَانِ , وَقِلَّةَ الْأَعْوَانِ , وَظُهُورَ الْبِدَعِ , وَإِلَى اللَّهِ نَشْكُو عَظِيمَ مَا حَلَّ بِهَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ مِنْ ذَهَابِ الْعُلَمَاءِ وَأَهْلِ السُّنَّةِ , وَظُهُورِ الْبِدَعِ» It was narrated that Abd-Allah ibn al-Mubaarak (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Know that death nowadays is an honour for every Muslim who meets Allah adhering to the Sunnah. Verily, to Allah we belong and unto Him is our return. It is to Allah that we complain of our Alienation, the passing away of our brothers, the lack of support and the emergence of bidah. it is to Allah that we complain of the great calamity that has befallen this ummah because of the passing away of the scholars and Ahl as-Sunnah, and the emergence of bidah. . 4:Ibn Abbas عن ابن عباس ، قال : النَّظَرُ إلى الرجل من أهل السنة يَدعو إلى السنة ويَنهى عن البدعة ، عبادةٌ Ibn Abbaas (R) spoke the truth when he described Ahl as-Sunnah in the following terms: You will always see a man of Ahl as-Sunnah calling people to the Sunnah and forbidding bidah. وعن ابن عباسٍ قال: ما أَتى على النّاسِ عامٌ ، إِلا أَحْدَثُوا فيهِ بِدْعةً وأَماتُوا فيهِ سنَّةً حتّى تَحْيَا البِدَعُ وتموتَ السنَنُ “Never will a year come to pass except that its people will invent in it an innovation and kill thereby a Sunnah until the innovation is established and the Sunnah dies off.” 5:Hudayfah bin al yamaan: كُلُّ عِبَادَةٍ لَمْ يَتَعَبَّدْهَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَا تَعَبَّدُوهَا فَإِنَّ الْأَوَّلَ لَمْ يَدَعْ لِلْآخِرِ مَقَالًا، فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْقُرَّاءِ، وَخُذُوا بِطَرِيقِ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ ، فَلَعَمْرِي لَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمُوهُ لَقَدْ سَبَقْتُمْ سَبْقًا بَعِيدًا، وَلَئِنْ تَرَكْتُمُوهُ يِمِينًا أَوْ شِمَالًا لَقَدْ ضَلَلْتُمْ ضَلَالًا بَعِيدًا 2. Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamaan (R) said: Do not perform any act of worship that was not practiced by the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, for the earlier generation did not leave any room for the latter to add anything (to the religion). Fear Allah, O readers, seekers of knowledge, and follow the path of those who came before you. [2] 6:Umar bin Abdul Azeez قِفْ حَيْثُ وَقَف القَوْمُ ، فإنَّهم عَنْ عِلْمٍ وَقَفُوا ، وَبِبَصَرٍ نافِذٍ كَفُّواْ ولَهُمْ على كَشْفِهَا كَانُوا أَقْوَى ، The just caliph Umar ibn Abd al-Azeez (R) said: Stay within the limits of the people, because they stayed within the limits on the basis of knowledge, and because of their deep knowledge they did not transgress limits, even though they had the means to go as far as they wanted. وبالفَضْلِ لو كانَ فِيهَا أَحْرَى ، فَلئِنْ قُلْتُم : حَدَثَ بَعْدَهُم ، فَمَا أَحْدَثَهُ إِلاَّ مَنْ خَالفَ هَدْيَهُمْ ، ورَغِبَ عن سُنَّتِهِم ، وَلَقدْ وَصَفُوا مِنْهُ مَا يَشْفِي ، وَتَكَلَّمُواْ منه بِمَا يَكْفِي ، ) If there was any virtue in going beyond the limits, they could have done that if they wanted to. If you say that innovations were introduced after they died, they were only introduced by people who went against their guidance and preferred a way other than theirs. They (the salaf) explained their way and made it clear to everyone, and they said enough about it. فَمَا فَوْقُهُمْ مُحَسِّرٌ ، وَمَا دُونهُمْ مُقَصِّرٌ ، لَقَدْ قَصَّرَ عَنْهم قَوْمٌ فَجَفَوا ، وَتَجَاوَزَهُم آخرون فَغَلَوا ، وإنَّهُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَ ذَلك عَلى هُدىً مُسْتَقِيمٍ Whoever tries to outdo them, is going to extremes, and whoever falls short in that is lacking. There are people who fell short and were negligent, and there are people who tried to surpass them and went to extremes. Theirs is a middle path between these two extremes, and it is a straight path. [11] وعن عمر بن عبد العزيز قال: كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يَقُولُ: سَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَوُلَاةُ الْأَمْرِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ سُنَنًا، الْأَخْذُ بِهَا تَصْدِيقٌ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ، وَاسْتِكْمَالٌ لِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ، وَقُوَّةٌ عَلَى دِينِ اللَّهِ، لَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ تَبْدِيلُهَا وَلَا تَغْيِيرُهَا، وَلَا النَّظَرُ فِيهَا! مَنِ اهْتَدَى بِهَا مُهْتَدٍ، وَمَنِ اسْتَنْصَرَ بِهَا مَنْصُورٌ، وَمَنْ خَافَهَا اتَّبَعَ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَوَلَّاهُ اللَّهُ مَا تَوَلَّى، وَأَصْلَاهُ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَاءَتْ مَصِيرًا. فَقَالَ مَالِكٌ: فَأَعْجَبَنِي عَزْمُ عُمَرَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ. 7:Sufyan Athwari الْبِدْعَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى إِبْلِيسَ مِنَ الْمَعْصِيَةِ، الْمَعْصِيَةُ يُتَابُ مِنْهَا، وَالْبِدْعَةُ لَا يُتَابُ مِنْهَا Bidah is dearer to Iblees than sin, because a person may repent of sin but he cannot repent of bidah. 8:Muaadh bin jabal مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: فَيُوشِكُ قَائِلٌ أَنْ يَقُولَ: مَا هُمْ بِمُتَّبِعِيَّ فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَقَدْ قَرَّأْتُ الْقُرْآنَ، فَلَا يَتَّبِعُنِّي حَتَّى أَبْتَدِعَ لَهُمْ غَيْرَهُ، فَإِيَّاكُمْ وَمَا ابْتُدِعَ، فَإِنَّ مَا ابْتُدِعَ ضَلَالَةٌ. مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ قَامَ بِالشَّامِ فَقَالَ: «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ , عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْعِلْمِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ , أَلَا وَإِنَّ رَفْعَهُ ذَهَابُ أَهْلِيهِ , وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْبِدَعَ , وَالتَّبَدُّعَ , وَالتَّنَطُّعَ , وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِأَمْرِكُمُ الْعَتِيقِ» 1. Muaadh ibn Jabal (R) said: O people, you must seek knowledge before it is taken away, for indeed when its people (the scholars) die, it wll be taken away. And beware of bidah, innovation and sophistication, and adhere to the ancient way [i.e., the way of the Prophet (S)]. [1 9: Awzaee فَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ عَلَى السُّنَّةِ، وَقِفْ حَيْثُ وَقَفَ الْقَوْمُ، وَقُلْ فِيمَا قَالُوا، وَكُفَّ عَمَّا كَفُّوا عَنْهُ، وَاسْلُكْ سَبِيلَ سَلَفِكَ الصَّالِحِ، فَإِنَّهُ يَسَعُكِ مَا وَسِعَهُمْ «Patiently restrict yourself upon the Sunnah, stop where the people (i.e. the companions) stopped, say what they say and refrain from that which they refrained. Traverse upon the path of your Salaf as-Salih (Righteous Predecessors), for indeed what was sufficient for them is sufficient for you.» (13) Abdullah bin Masood «مَنْ كَانَ مُسْتَنًّا فَلْيَسْتَنَّ بِمَنْ قَدْ مَاتَ، أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانُوا خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ، أَبَّرَهَا قُلُوبًا، وَأَعْمَقَهَا عِلْمًا، وَأَقَلَّهَا تَكَلُّفًا، قَوْمٌ اخْتَارَهُمُ اللهُ لِصُحْبَةِ نَبِيِّهِ صلّى الله عليه وسلم وَنَقْلِ دِينِهِ، فَتَشَبَّهُوا بِأَخْلَاقِهِمْ وَطَرَائِقِهِمْ فَهُمْ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، كَانُوا عَلَى الْهُدَى الْمُسْتَقِيمِ» - Whoever wants to follow an example, let him follow the example of those who have passed away, the Companions of Muhammad (peace be upon him). They were the best of this ummah, the purest in heart, the deepest in knowledge, the least in sophistication. They were people whom Allah chose to be the Companions of His Prophet (peace be upon him) and to convey His religion, so imitate their ways and behaviour, for they were following the Straight Path. Imaam Ashafie: من استحسن فقد شرّع. Ibn Umar : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سِوَارٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: «كُلُّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلَالَةٌ، وَإِنْ رَآهَا النَّاسُ حَسَنَةً» Imaam Ahmed أُصُولُ السُّنَّةِ عِنْدَنَا : التَّمَسُّكُ بِمَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالِاقْتِدَاءُ بِهِمْ وَتَرْكُ الْبِدَعِ وَكُلُّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلَالَةٌ . وَالسُّنَّةُ عِنْدَنَا : آثَارُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالسُّنَّةُ تُفَسِّرُ الْقُرْآنَ وَهِيَ دَلَائِلُ الْقُرْآنِ أَيْ دَلَالَاتٌ عَلَى مَعْنَاهُ . وَالْآثَارُ فِي هَذَا الْمَعْنَى كَثِيرَةٌ جَمِيعُهَا يَدُلُّ عَلَى الِاقْتِدَاءِ بِهِمْ وَالِاتِّبَاعِ لِطَرِيقِهِمْ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ، وَهُوَ طَرِيقُ النَّجَاةِ حَسْبَمَا نَبَّهَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيثُ الْفِرَقِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: «مَا أَنَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَصْحَابِي» وَلِهَذَا قَالُوا: {لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَا سَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ} وَأَمَّا أَهْلُ السُّنَّةِ (5) وَالْجَمَاعَةِ فَيَقُولُونَ فِي كُلِّ فِعْلٍ وَقَوْلٍ لَمْ يَثْبُتْ عَنِ الصَّحَابَةِ: هُوَ بِدْعَةٌ؛ لِأَنَّهُ لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا لسبقونا إليه، لأنهم لَمْ يَتْرُكُوا خَصْلَةً مِنْ خِصَالِ الْخَيْرِ إِلَّا وَقَدْ بَادَرُوا إِلَيْهَا (Had it been good, they (the weak and poor) would not have preceded us to it!) Contrary to this is the position of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah: They say about any act or saying that has not been reported from the Companions: It is an innovation.
