Email DAY!!!!!!!!!!! Sister-Crystan Marcom wrote This past Tuesday for devotional we were blessed to have Elder Nelson of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles come to speak with us. We were also on the sixth row in the middle thanks to Elder Cordon haha pushing the way through haha. It was so amazing to be surrounded by so many missionaries, the Lords servants and to sit at the feet of an apostle was such a blessing. We also heard from Sister Nelson and she talked about the importance of being desperate especially on your mission. When you are desperate your prayers change, your attitude changes, your intent changes, and we all tend to rely on the Lord more. She was especially talking about when we were desperate to find people to teach on the mission. So President Stice after the meeting wished us all desperation on our missions hahaha. I never would have thought about it that way, but without a doubt it is true, so be desperate and rely on the Lord. Some of the highlights from Elder Nelson were true repentance is conversion and true conversion is repentance, this puzzled me at first, but giving it more thought I have come to see how true it is. When we truly repent we become converted to the Lord and when we are truly converted we continue to repent. He also was talking about new converts saying, we want them to remain so they can obtain. By that he was talking about remaining in the church so they can obtain the full blessings of the gospel and the blessings of going through the temple. Another thing he mentioned was to put Jesus first and lose yourself. I have made that my number one goal to put Christ first in all things and lose myself in the work of the Lord, like President Hinckley said. We have had many hours in the classroom to learn how to teach the doctrine, which has been really helpful. I cant even begin to tell you how much I have grown the past week. We have also started teaching some fake investigators and member lessons to people, it has been so spiritual. In the middle of lessons Ill be guided to certain scriptures (most of them scripture mastery, thank you seminary) and it has been so amazing to see and feel how much the Spirit has been guiding me. My mama, Almeta Gaskill said she is just like the rabbit in the Briar Patch. She is loving every minute of this experience. That does this mama and daddy good! Love our Sister Marcom. #sistermarcom
