Email I received: Subject: Pratt & Shope can run from their Obamacare Medicaid Expansion votes but they cannot hide I got my Pratt-Shope “we’re innocent” flyer protesting how they did not vote for Obamacare and what great conservatives they are. Wow, reminds me of Ricky Ricardo telling Lucy “Let me ‘splain”. We all know how that always turned out for Ricky. Pratt’s and Shope’s problem is that you can run but cannot hide from the truth. There was exactly one part of Obamacare that citizens and the states could avoid, Obamacare’s expansion of Medicaid. Originally this was going to be forced on the states at the risk of losing all their federal Medicaid funding but the Supreme Court ruled that the states could not be coerced. They would have to vote and opt in. After being beat over the head with the 2x4 of Obamacare Pratt and Shope voted to hit us between the eyes with the baseball bat of Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion. The 15 Republican legistrators voted with every Democrat in the Governor’s special session to burden us with Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion. When Pratt’s and Shope’s flyer says that it is complete false that they voted for Obamacare is that because they forgot Pratt was the sole sponsor 2013 Special Session House Bill 2010, the Obamacare Medicaid expansion bill? Is it because they forget how they voted it the wee hours of the morning with all the Democrats? They certainly cannot forget that they were promised by the healthcare industry and Chamber of Commerce with whatever money they needed to win a contested primary after turning traitor to the Party. You see, their votes were bought and paid for fair and square. Vote for the Obamacare Medicaid expansion and we will fund your re-election, whatever it takes. I will say that Banner and all the other healthcare firms kept their word. Pratts and Shopes coffers are overflowing with traitor’s silver. These same groups have donated to the Governor’s PAC as well as other independent expenditure PACs that are packing their bought and paid for officias. Pratt and Shope have IE money pushing for them as well. I guess once you decide to be sell your vote for money at least you should not sell yours cheap. So far it over $100K to their campaigns and IE support. After the 2013 Special Session Pratt’s and Shope’s scores with conservative firms reflected their abandonment of Republican Party conservative principals. The AZ Conservative Coalition, formerly the Pachyderms, gave both their lowest rating (RINO) with Pratt being the lowest rated of all 36 Republican representatives. Americans for Prosperity rated both as Champions of Big Government, with scores of 13/100. The following fall the Pinal County Republican committee censured Pratt and Shope along with fellow legistrator Rep Doug Coleman (LD16) for their Obamacare Medicaid expansion vote. How truthful is the Pratt-Shope flyer “we are conservatives, we oppose Obamacare”? About as truthful as Obama’s claim that the border is as secure as it every has been. Censure Arizona Representatives Frank Pratt (LD8), T J Shope (LD8), and Douglas Coleman (LD16) for voting for the Medicaid expansion against the expressed position of this body and the Republican Party platform, aligning with the democrats and helping welfare expansion and Obamacare in Arizona. We therefore censure these legislators, and encourage other Pinal County Republicans to likewise disassociate themselves from any of these who may be candidates for office in the upcoming 2014 elections.
