Email between myself and my boss today.....just trying to lighten up a little during this crazy time of Government Shutdowns, Furloughs and crybaby bickering between The US Congress and the US President! From my boss to all Civilians in the office: Read this and stop bugging me :) (email attachment about Federal Civilian Pay during Government Shutdown and Furlough) My Reply: I have a question. If I decide to take leave on the day after Columbus Day, but I would like to work on Columbus Day, what do I need to do? I also would like to take 2.5 hours from 9-1130 and 2.5 hrs from 2-1630, on the 21st of Oct, but if I were to take these hours, can they be furlough hours and be in a non pay status as that would be more beneficial to me as since I am not getting paid, I am not having to pay any taxes. I plan to review the OPF files and determine if I can take Leave without Pay instead of being Furloughed without pay, it is my understanding that LWOP allows me to increase my "credible Service Time" and thus, over the course of time, would increase my total leave by .5 days for every 10 days of furlough or Leave Without Pay. Would you please coordinate with the BN and Grp and determine further if I would like chicken on Fridays for lunch, would that be ok instead of hamburgers.....Hamburgers, allbeit are very tasty, sometimes they make my stomach hurt. So, please research all of this during this time of unknown know while the government is Shutdown and let me know what the weather will be on Nov 18th as I plan to take that day off and go to a Football game.....however, that day is considered to be the 6th day of the week or for some folks, a Saturday. Please have this reviewed by the Pentagon Lawyers and determine if apples taste good and can I make candy canes for Halloween instead of Christmas. Thanks for your time and consideration of this request! I WONT SHARE HIS REPLY...:)
