Project Manager Principal Responsibilities: Work with clients and supplier Engineering, Physics, and Operations personnel to understand the clients System including its installation parameters, operation parameters, and required electrical, mechanical, HVAC, chiller, pneumatics, and other required support systems. Work with client Design/Build Teams, manufacturers’ installers, and field service personnel to ensure that they know what support systems are required by the clients system and that these systems are provided and validated as much as possible before installation of the clients system is begun. Create, coordinate, maintain, and hold weekly meetings to review status of the material management plan and project integrated master schedule which will outline day-to-day equipment deliveries, construction, rigging, installation, integration, and test activities associated with the clients’ construction project. Work with clients’ management to manage client expectations and perceptions regarding the project status and progress. Attend client meetings prior to client’s equipment installation phases to ensure EBI compliance, and address/troubleshoot any new issues that may impact clients’ equipment. Establish and maintain weekly project progress meetings with key personnel to address issues, plan future activities, assess progress, troubleshoot, re-plan, and assess potential project impacts. Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of installing equipment, software, wiring, rigging, and other equipment fit and installation concerns. Develop, implement, and enforce a comprehensive site safety program (policy, procedure, safety equipment requirements, and training material) in concert with client site and radiation safety personnel. This program will include a formally documented safety and radiation orientation which will be required for all new jobsite personnel. Anticipate and assist clients and 3Rd Party suppliers by proactively understanding and arranging for certain field conditions and subcontractors/trades needed to support their work on site. Oversee managers working on client site to ensure compliance with field code and assist with interdisciplinary coordination. Take actions to ensure that client’s management has the latest pertinent and factual information regarding progress and issues affecting the project. Ensure compliance with clients Quality Management System (QMS) related to the receipt, logging, verification, and inspection of packages and equipment arriving on site including documenting this activity in MKS according to the QMS work instructions. Ensure that all components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, elements and software installed are formally part of clients released Bill of Material (BOM). Assign part/component-appropriate personnel to install, inspect, and/or test elements of the clients System ensuring that work instructions are available before work begins and that these instructions are followed. Ensure that clients Quality Management System (QMS) process is followed and that all of the proper paperwork is present during all installation, inspection, and test activities (work instructions, schematics, and other technical data). Monitor onsite personnel to ensure NDAs, consulting/supplier agreements, supplier evaluations, safety training etc. are all in place and current . Work with IT to ensure that system and jobsite security is comprehensive, effective, and monitored throughout system installation and commissioning. Participate in budget development and monitoring for Project Management division. Participate in recruitment screening as required by company management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or project/construction management; Master Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical) preferred. Project Management certification a plus (PMI). Experience in a proton accelerator environment is strongly desired. 10+ years of experience as an onsite project manager overseeing large construction projects.
