Emax Front 3/4 crowns with 4.5 year follow-up reviews by Dr. Acatrinei Bogdan from Romania. This is a full case step by step dedication for Pasquale Venuti, Lancet, & Stephen Kuzmak. Dentaltown Message Board > Cosmetic Dentistry > Cosmetic Dentistry > dentaltown/MessageBoard/thread.aspx?s=2&f=101&t=241529&pg=1&r=3680037. Introduction: This case was done 4.5 years ago! Much of all dentistry that entered here is a combo of self-learning & courses but the BASE is countless white nights spent here in Dentaltown since 2006. I have learned soooo much from here form soo many of you I cannot name you all, Dr. Ed, Ragnar, Nosti, Jason Smithson, Chansolen, Kanca, Ulrich, etc… So many of you! This is me giving back to this forum because i grew up here! Initial smile. I worked hard to get this smile! Initial Situation. Occlusal shot of the frontal teeth. Lots of decay, old dentistry and a scared patient. Her hygiene looks pretty bad but after a few weeks you will see big improvement. Also in the 4.5 years recall. Photos. First you need a plan. Wax-up and Prep guide. After that all is easy! I use every day DSD which is more or less an idiot planing tool! Easier to learn then the Chansolen Quint. I love it! All those drawings on pictures are nothing if do not know the dentistry behind it but the whole concept once mastered is Magnificent! Some endodontic treatments due to recurrent caries under the previous composite restorations. Adhering to Ragnar minimal invasiveness protocols. Pasquale makes an art out of this kind of endodontic treatments. Initial preparation. I was a bit heavy handed back then. But Dr. Eds gorgeous preps got me in this step. Pay as much attention to each tooth you prep just like you would prep your daughters teeth. You will be here in no time! Now i keep the preps much smaller in size and more & more towards veneers and fragments. But meticulousness and attention to details make cases resist - not the microscope or the minimal prep design. Provisionals. Col-temp. Shrink wrap. Testing and refining occlusion in provisionals. I think this is the most important step of the whole case. After this is done you can have the patient leave for 1 month and see him every week or so to assess how things are going. If all ok and nothing is broken or chipped you can go with finals with no worries. I didnt do that here, I was very confident in my skills! The Chansolen Quint tend to give confidence! Thank you very much! Final preps and abutments ready to receive the final restauration. This is Surpass Glowing on abutments. Post op 2 weeks after adhesive bonding. I bond these with heated Gradia Clear composite. Nothing fancy. No i use whatever i have at hand. it really does not matter. Matter most the adhesive and how you handle it not necessarily the cement. Post op 2 weeks. Although the hygiene is better due to the crowding of the lowers there will always be some minor inflammation here. I got used to it. It wont kill the patient. Post-op 2 weeks after bonding. The cingulums are left intact! i preped a bit too much as i wanted to recreate the anterior guidance but now when i look at the photos i realise that i could have left much more tooth substance there! There is no guidance in this case that close to cingulums. 2 weeks post op. Post op smile with circular flash. Smile. You deserve it. This is the only watermarked photo i will post. I still remember first post I saw a loooong time ago here. It was a case done by Tarun Agrawal and it had no watermark. I print it and lied to some patients, that i had done that case. After a 1 or 2 years i took it of the wall as i had already plenty cases to show...but THAT first case printed, meant everything to me. It was my mountain to climb. I lied to them and in the same time i was daring me to do better. It worked. I hope it will inspire more to do great dentistry. I am not saying this is the perfect case. This is just one of my cases that looks good on recalls. I have many more like this. Just as i have some cases that debonds once in a while. Some cases that cracks, some cases that were done with no thought on occlusion at all. I also have failures. So many of them. Nobody is perfect. Except Lancet. Recall. 4.5 years later. Occlusal 4.5 years later. This dentistry is sold in my family clinic for 400Euro each 3/5 crown, veneer etc. This cost me in the Lab 100 Euro each restauration. Conclusion: I hope you will like this case and I a open to all questions, criticism anyone might have. I am still here to learn. I am not here to show off. I am always smiling and i decided i will surround myself with passionate people as i think this is Key to success. More than 70% of all dentists here are passionate. Grains of salt all over. Dont try this at home and blame me it ruined your case. ;) Bogdan Acatrinei super-dent.ro #CosmeticDentistry #Emax #Dentist #Dentistry #DentalStudents #Dentaltown #DentaltownMessageBoards #prosthodontics #BogdanAcatrinei
