Embracing The Past Weeks Festivities Christmas, New Year and The Old Ways... In my post entitled The Coming of The Ship (posted 18.12.2014) I wrote about Endings and Beginnings...trusting in our inner knowing as to what we need to keep... and that which we need to let go! Having embraced Christmas, not for its commercialism, but for its true meaning of taking time to share with and think of others, we in turn stand at the end of a year and the beginning of another...and as we do, I believe it to be ever more important to take a good look at ourselves as individuals, and how we, as those unique and incredibly able and capable individuals, fit into the collective - how we nurture self, each other and the beautiful planet upon which we reside. Observing, through the media, as well as out and about, the duel reality of those stressed by Christmas, and if they are honest, life in general, I saw a duality of those who had let go of old ways that no longer served them, if they ever engaged with them in the first place. Those who truly revel in the very essence of life; those who value the smallest of things, those who have chosen to opt out of an illusionary life in exchange for a more nourishing existence centered on sharing, caring, happiness and peace that embraces diversity, individuality, creativity and true open hearted love of all life. This, as apposed to frantic, stressed filled, chaotic – frenzy, that only serves to create dis-ease in mind, body, spirit and soul. The following song gave way for the title of this post, a song that was playing in the car on the way to Dover, coming on just before Tim Wheater and The Warriors Return (1st Movement) from (Heart Land), that was shared in the earlier post. Both songs could not have been more fitting - The Old Ways speaking of endings and The Warriors Return speaking of the Wheel of Destiny Turning in order that the World of Goodness may Rise Again, as we return our souls to Gentleness - beginnings. Christmas to me, is not about stress, nor is it about materialism. Christmas to me is about doing our bit to cultivate and bring about PEACE ON EARTH - GOOD WILL TO One and ALL. It’s about sharing with our family, neighbour and fellow bothers and sisters, each and every one. It is about being thoughtful and ever more conscious as to where we source our food and gifts..., what resources we use and how we clean up our act in relation to how we treat the planet. It is about so much more, a-top Wishing Everyone a Happy, Peace - full and Love filled Christmas and New Year! And as the New Year approaches - it is about looking at what we wish our resolutions to be for that year. What we want to note that we are grateful for...What we want to let go of, which is where we now stand, at the cusp of LETTING GO of another year, another belief, another job, another person, another habit, another, another, another - all of which will differ for everyone. For now, we can look to the words of the song, which could be sung about so many things and we could sing to our selves, a lover and/or friend. It has meaning in the expression of the last lines, as we cage ourselves in so many - and old ways! The Old Ways... The thundering waves are calling me home unto you The pounding sea is calling me home unto you On a dark new years night On the west coast of Clare I heard your voice singing Your eyes danced the song Your hands played the tune Twas a vision before me. We left the music behind as the dance carried on As we stole away to the seashore And smelt the brine, felt the wind in our hair In sadness you paused. Suddenly I knew that youd have to go Your world was not mine; your eyes told me so Yet it was there I felt the crossroads of time And I wondered why. As we cast our gaze on the tumbling sea A vision came oer me Of thundering hooves and beating wings In clouds above. As you turned to go I heard you call my name, You were like a bird in a cage spreading its wings to fly The old ways are lost, you sang as you flew And I wondered why. Looking around I observe that it is time that some of the old ways that no longer serve us were lost. There time is past, new ways of being in this world are then open and free for creation. As we are called home to a better way of ‘Being’ in this world, as we change, so too does that world. The old ways are lost, you sang as you flew And rather than ask why – I, along with many others, flew and sang with you! Wishing One and All a Happy, Joy-full, Love-filled, Greener than Green, Healthy and Prosperous 2015 - One Love, Sx Pictures shared represent a taster of those and that, who and which, remind me daily that I AM TRULY BLESSED!
