Embracing my humanity. The issue is not that God is ignorant of my weaknesses or the battles that I fight every day. On the contrary, He is so aware of them that He earnestly desires that I choose the path of least resistance to His way and not to my struggles. He desires a total abandonment in the face of my humanity to the truth of his might and His ability to save me from that which so strongly seeks to ensnare and enslave me. In the height of my battle and through the intensity of my struggle, my resolve is an admission of my own limited humanity and a desperate cry for His intervention to save me from myself. No wonder the apostle Paul said oh wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from this... Why? Because the things I will to do I do not but the things I will not I do... But thank God for his salvation and a way out all times. A way that trumps self will and perfects Gods strength in the face of my biggest weakness: me. Therefore shall I say chill out flesh as I desperately cry out for the salvation that God so freely gives to me...after all, even my savior had one moment of weakness in his life time. Remember the agony in Gethsmane? Christ cried out and used the power of a nevertheless to strip his weakness of its power and give strength to the power of love and commitment to a world that desperately needed a savior and was ignorant of their grim fate. So I take joy in my humanity as it keeps me humble to the unfathomable power at work in me, through me and for me, to perfect Gods awesome strength in the face of my weakness, as I come out a victor at all times. Dont give in to your flesh, give in to Gods power in you. References: Romans 7:13-25, James 4:6-8, I Corinthians 10:13, Luke 22:42
