Emergency responders remain in a search and recovery mode today and ask additional volunteers to wait until the coming days to come out to help. Hundreds came to the command post and information center this morning to volunteer; however, the volume of volunteers is hindering efforts to continue the search and recovery. Sgt. Jeff Bradford of the Lincoln County Sheriffs Department says he is very appreciative of all the volunteers stepping up to help; however, there are more folks coming in than emergency officials can coordinate. Its a day after day after day process, Bradford said, noting that information will be released in the coming days as to when they can accept additional volunteers in the area. Volunteers who have a specific residence on which they plan to work can be more easily coordinated and may come to the command post and information center for an arm band. Remember, everyone MUST have an arm band. All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
