Emergent appt at PCPs office. They were alarmed at level and duration of pain. Ran my X-rays to orthopedic group next door and came back with likelihood of compression fracture of lumbar vertebra or vertebrae...setting up an appt for MRI for Friday or Monday. ASAP. Sent home on stronger pain med with instructions to take every four hours, stay in bed as much as possible, heat on back to try to alleviate muscle spasm(s). My tolerance has met its match. Following directions and out of commission for awhile. Thanks to all who have offerred help. Probably have a ride to MRI - whenever that may be. Prayers accepted here.
