Emmanuel-- God with us God is so awesome, that no matter what, He cannot be contained. They said no room at the inn... it didnt stop there. Awesome, powerful, inconceivable God... became... a baby... He humbly became a baby, born humbly in a manger, in a barn. Light broke through in a dark world. There is hope. Our True Light in this dark world was born in a manger, and He gave that Light to us; to YOU. Light of hope, peace, and love. God loves us all... let in his Light. Pass on that hope to someone who may need it. We get so much more than anything we could ever ask for, or even imagine. No matter where we are or what we have in this dark work, we can practice living in that light. Paul was in prison and writing, and still rejoicing; he knew he would be ok. We need the Light in the darkness. We KNOW God is always with us... He loves us and keeps His promises. It can seem as though this world doesnt know how to love anymore... we hear so much about the local hate and violence, senseless acts-- the senseless acts in our nation, and in our world. But we have to remember, and Id like to think... there is still so much good in the world. Most of us have the good IN us; we may have just made bad choices, or just dont know any different. That can change, and it can change, TODAY. All we can do is our part, and spread that hope whenever and wherever possible. “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can. -John Wesley If we live for the good of all people, if every one of us just lived a life that God would want us to live; and even if everyone didnt, but YOU did, individually, the world WILL be a better place. Our physical world, someone elses world, and our individual world. When I was in Kosovo a few years ago with Operation Christmas Child, we told the kids how when we give gifts, we are celebrating and remembering Gods love. He loves us so much that He gave us a Gift.. and that Gift was brought to this world 2000 years ago. Remember what this season is about. Its not about cookies and cards and gift (although they sure are an added bonus!)... but its about the Gift that came to us 2000 years ago, in swaddling clothes in a manger. He came to us in the body, and can identify with us; all our pains, and is constantly interceding for us, giving us hope. Dont let this season stop today. Carry that light and hope with you; with us, each and every second of every minute of every hour of every God-given day. Reach out to those who may need it the most.
