Emotions are running high on the south coast tonight. but not just for the people of Portsmouth and surrounding areas losing whats looking likely to be nearly 2,000 jobs, but for British heritage as a whole. This dock was built in 1194, and has ever since been on the forefront of our security, producing some magnificent ships. Political agenda! Cameron flippantly tossing around with lives to appease the nationalists in Scotlands vote for independence. who were polling at about 23% last time I checked!. bit drastic I feel, but hey when youre spineless thats what happens. we have noticed that the dock has morphed into a tourist attraction, so not really sure on the time scale or planning of this move. but I can tell you for sure, Portsmouth will not be able to sustain itself on this alone and Im totally feeling for them right now. lets hope some private Investors can capitalise on the dock space and bring some jobs back to the area. David Cameron has inflicted more damage on an 800-year-old British institution than “Jack the Painter”, who tried to burn the place down in 1776. Jack the Painter was hung 64 feet from the mizzenmast of the Arethusa, erected at the dockyard gates. And as for the SNP!,, would you want the cast of Rab C Nesbitt running your independent nation!. NO. me either!. well done to our Ray Finch for getting down there to oppose the move. rant over.
