Empire Froth +Co-operation from the weather was greatly appreciated, no rain and not too hot, happy days. A bit of dust comes right off (sure it must have been more difficult for the contact lensers). +Good food from Tykes, coming to Empire has been a little like coming to university in that you have to learn to look after yourself in a new environment, early on youre eating 20p noodles from a shoe with a comb. Being able to eat something with gravy on it has made all the difference when it came to having the energy I needed to get things done. +I liked the reading of Xendriks Will, it was a good serious face roleplaying bit to get everything in gear after time-in. +A nice little bit of roleplay in the Arbiter elections, firming up Vulpes changed philosophy and getting to seem a bit damaged in the process. +The ever friendly Repose, cake, secrets and seating. +Doing well in the Crystal Guardian challenge. Its great to be able to represent Urizen strength at arms and its brilliant to get prizes. This is the first Mithril Ive actually SEEN and its mine! On balance I wouldnt have minded if thered been battlemages in with us, and I can also see reasons for making it muggles only. +The Rhino. Everyone is talking about the Rhino. I nearly got to pet the Rhino but then it became aggitated... +Peoples reactions as I was going around getting accurate casualty figures for the Saturday battle. From the Egregores and national generals of those invovled the tally stands at 1 Urizen (mercenary banner) 1 Imperial Orc (squashed by Rhino) 5 of the Brass Coast, 12 of the Dawnish and 50 from Wintermark. Ive since seen pictures of the Wintermark Egregore in returning from the battle with rageface and I can appreciate why. +Getting to sparr and share fighting tips with lots of people this event. Giving Ben Addy his safety brief and bringing him up to speed on combat, you are either a very fast learner or youve done some swordplay before I think. The bow practice across the Urizen camp Friday afternoon with Chris and Gary, theres only so much we can learn in the garden after all. Fighting behind Phoenix Reach on Friday evening, teaching Decius about Fühlen. +Putting the right people together a couple of times, having someone new come by looking to sell an item that seemed almost worthless doing a little bit of networking and ending up with someone telling us Well, I could probably get you 25 metals for it but we will have to go and talk to a herald to do that. +Relieving Vitellius and guarding the tent following the assassination attempt. I can get how regular guard duty is dull, but post assassination guard duty is full of interesting people coming to see whats happened and rumours flying around. Talking with Carr has kinda put me off getting Quickening Cold Meat for the Citadel despite how efficient it would be. +Helping solve a groovy mystery through the power of overhearing and remembering stuff! +Being invited to join the Militia after bouncing off them a few events ago, didnt get to put my application in due to being detained and tortured (more later) but feeling good about it none-the-less. +Being assigned to Solas as a bodyguard for the Sunday battle. Very different style of play from regular battle, jumping from hotspot to hotspot and having a very tangible objectives you can personally achieve. Turns out Liao is subject to wild variance in demand! +Saying goodbye to Solas as it became clear the rearguard was falling apart. +Repeated rescues and desperate sacrificial fighting in the harried pursuit. Crawling across the roots and twigs to pour a potion in General Morecais mouth before going back to bleeding to death. Very fair play of the Druj that pushed us into broken ground and then gave us a chance to extricate before continuing the harrying, good sports. +Revenge beatings and torture at the hands of said Druj. +Realising that I dont want Vulpes to die just yet, somewhat surprised. +Free apple juice and chocolate in the crew bar as post-torture aftercare. +Getting blooded up to come back to the field as terror victims, Ive been wanting to get blooded for a while now after seeing all the cool pics from other events, we all looked ghastly. +Getting our new Arbiter to the hospital, collapsing myself (that is to say, falling over, not folding up like an umbrella), real life coughing fit making rocks-in-my-lungs trauma card sound horrendous. Looking over and calling for Levitia and after an agonising silence hearing Vulpes, pack it in! Good times. +Quite tender post trauma care from my fellow sentinel Owain and favorite Cambion Chris, getting un-girded by them felt positively Dawnish. +Losing my phone (fell out of my pocket like the one ring, I swear it never left my car any time on Sunday), some kind soul found it and handed it in, home was called and by the time I had landed back in brum none the wiser everything was sorted. An hour later, knock on the door and a lovely person from PD handed me my mobile back. Well done PD, good show. + All in all Its been a really good event for connecting with people, like Ive been throwing myself at the wall for a while now and have finally stuck. Looking forward to what could happen next!
