Employee leaders on run after ‘assaulting’ teachers Police Sunday registered a case against two employee leaders and is on a lookout for them. Police have registered a case against the two leaders of Employees Joint Action Committee for thrashing school teachers in north Kashmir’s Pattan town. Scores of EJAC workers headed by Qamar Din Qadri and Muhammad Ayoub barged into Government High School Hamri and allegedly forced teachers and students to lock the school. “We had kept our school open on Saturday as the exams of the students are approaching. EJAC president Pattan Zone, Qamar Din Qadri and Muhammad Ayoub made entered into the school compound and not only forced us to vacate but thrashed some of the teachers besides hurling volley of abuses,” one of the teachers Muhammad Shafiq Shah said. He said he was beaten to pulp by the employee leaders. The school management lodged a complaint in police station against the duo. Station House Officer Pattan, Mehboob Bandey said police have launched a hunt to nab them. “They are absconding and their mobile phones are out of order. Hopefully, they will be arrested soon,” he said. After the government failed to end deadlock over the employees’ demand, the Joint Consultative Committee— an amalgam of employee unions— had issued a fresh protest calendar calling for protests, strikes and marches
