Have you successfully guided your own children through adolescence and enjoy a challenge? We are currently looking for a couple who want to make a difference in young peoples lives and are in a position to move into our CYF Family Home in Napier , to provide care for children and young people who do not have family they can currently live with. Our family homes need to be places of safety where children and young people can get on with life while we work to find a permanent loving home, either with their whānau or in their community. These young people can be fun and rewarding to be with however, because of their past experiences, their behaviours can sometimes be extremely challenging. As a Family Home Caregiver, you will run the home as a family household and be skilled in taking care of children and young people with a range of needs. Child, Youth, and Family will provide accommodation, allowances (but not a salary), training, support, annual holidays and monthly weekend relief. Our young people need Family Home caregivers who: Can stay calm through the difficult times Are resilient, compassionate and have a lot of common sense Are energetic, committed and resourceful Are able to work as part of a team Have experience working with or caring for children and young people Willing to receive on-going specialised training and social work support If you think you are able to make a real difference to these young peoples lives, we would love to hear from you.
