This position is contingent upon award Job Description: The Senior Socio-Cultural Analyst will provide cultural expertise and reports to advance the broader Department of Defense goal of developing knowledge and analysis appropriate to contemporary and future security challenges on the continent of Africa. Requirements: • Master’s Degree in African studies. • 8 years of experience providing Socio-Cultural analysis with at least 1 additional year (cumulative) of experience working or living in Africa or a developing country with conditions similar to those in Africa. • Experience with MS Office Suite required, SPSS and SAS desired. • Prior on-the-ground experience in the country or region corresponding to the branch to which the contract personnel will be assigned is desired. • Analytic and writing skills demonstrated in written reports or publications that draw on analysis and study that they have conducted, to be made available for review upon request. • Language skills (DLPT scores of 2/2 and OPI scores of 2 or higher) in at least one of the following languages are desired: French, Arabic, Somali, Hausa, Swahili, and Bambara.
