Employment Opportunity New Jersey Division The following Employment opportunity is available: Personal Performance Trainer Camden Kroc Center -- Camden, N.J. Position: Personal Performance Trainer Section/Department: Program / Recreation Availability of Position: Immediate Schedule: On Call Reporting Relationship: Sports and Fitness Supervisor Description of Position: Under the direction of the Fitness & Sports League Supervisor, the Personal Performance Trainer I position is responsible for providing orientation to new members, assisting members with their workouts and providing personal training services. Performs related duties as assigned. The Kroc Center will be a fully comprehensive community center with: gymnasium, natatorium, fitness area, aerobics room, office spaces, meeting rooms, chapel, kitchen and other associated spaces. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age; High school diploma or GED equivalency; A degree in fitness, exercise science, athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology or other related areas is preferred. Has a current certification in personal training: ACSM Exercise Leadership Certification or NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, preferred; CPR/First Aid/ AED certified; Blood Borne Pathogens Trained, preferred; Must be able to design high-quality, up-to-date, scientifically sound, safe and effective fitness programs for a variety of client goals and needs; Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to speak Spanish desired; 1-3 years of demonstrated personal training experience is required; Ability to instruct exercise programs; Focus on customer service and strong communication skills with highly diverse population; Strong functional knowledge of MS Office applications and the ability to learn proprietary software; Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong teaching and presentation skills; Demonstrated ability in fitness testing, evaluation and risk screening; Must be able to lift and carry 35 pounds. Must be able to stand, stoop, or walk intermittently for 4-6 hours per day. Ability to work weekends/evening hours as needed; Must have willingness to travel.
