Lets work so that economic recovery is not jeopardised by experimentation and political juggling Greeces employment balance was positive in the January-November period, with the hiring-dismissal balance showing a positive 99,956 job positions, official figures showed on Monday. A report by the labour ministrys IT system Ergani, showed that the hiring-dismissal balance was negative in November, with 20,331 fewer job positions. Labour ministry officials said the November figures were a seasonal phenomenon. The 11-month figures show that wage employment flows recorded the best performance since 2001, Labour Minister Yiannis Vroutsis said, commenting on the figures, adding that the figures showed that the labour market stabilised and that a stable decline in unemployment has begun. Wage employment is alive again, Vroutsis said. This improvement was not by accident. It is the result of a restart of the economy and the return to positive growth rates and the ministrys planning to support employment. It is also the result of the accumulated effect of structural reforms made so far, the Greek minister said, adding results will be more obvious and impressive in the future on the precondition that efforts to combat unemployment will continue and that the course of economic recovery is not jeopardised by experimentation and political juggling.
