En dan nummer 4/And now, number 4. Have been fostering in between Chicca and the last one. When I saw his picture shared on Stray cats and kittens in need of help in Athens, coming from Nine Lives I knew, I couldnt resist. I had to have him, especially when I had seen how my own cats responded to fosters. And an even number, I was told is the best thing for them. In the beginning Greece was thinking I wanted to foster, their joy when they heard I wanted to adopt him was unbelievable. Here is the story of my little newcomer Cookie: Little Cookie had been abandoned by his mum in a filthy basement ..propably she gave birth at that place . When we heard his weak crying , we allready knew that he dint have much time. With a flash light, through a broken window, we spotted him standing between a pile of trash and engine oils remainings ( the basement belongs to a car repair store) . He was so tiny and skinny that his ears were looking huge in comparisson with his body The window was too high for him toclimb. We knew that we wouldnt be able to trap him down there in the deep darkness and filthiness, so the first two weeks we were entering through this window and we were leaving food and water. His crying started to be stronger and he was responding to our voices. Then we made a net ladder , and the second day he started to climb towards the light!!!!! The first time we saw him out , he looked at us with his very sad eyes and he dissapered again in th basement . But now the food was on the window so he had to climp every day . He was coming out , eating a bit and then was standing for hours in the same position .. He was obviously very malnourist , and we could see that his skinny body dint have hairs everywhere . After a week of up and down , one day he just let me to catch him . He looked at me , didnt move at all , didnt try to escape, he just let me to take him in my palm !!!! Hair and skin full of engine oil and petrol smell , his belly was naked of hair , his ears in very bad condition and on the top ..he was full of fleas!!!!! they had sucked everydrop of blood of his little body . We didnt know if he would make it , and the vet didnt give us much to hope , but he prooved himself a real fighter!!!! And now he can present himself as prince charming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
