Encouragement: Day #3 Prayer and Fasting As you enter day three of the fast, continuing in shifting your focus on God and praying daily, you will begin to enter a deeper more intimate place with Him. You are becoming more sensitive to what God is saying. You are experiencing Him in new ways. Your excitement for what lies ahead is increasing. Your faith is strengthening. Here’s why; John 14v21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” We are seeking God and keeping His commandment to pray and fast therefore, He is manifesting Himself to us. That is why we are becoming so much more aware of Him. Today we look at praise and worship and its significance during this fast. In the Old Testament, during the time of Moses, the dwelling place of God was in the Tabernacle. In order to get to the tabernacle (Presence of God) one had to first go through gates and courts. There were certain things that had to be done when entering those gates and courts. We see this in Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Today there is no longer a tabernacle where God dwells; He is now fully accessible thanks to Jesus. However, the way to enter His presence has not changed. First come to Him with thanksgiving. Start your praise and worship with giving God thanks for all that He has done. Just begin to thank Him for all the wonderful things He has done not only in your own life but in the lives of others as well. Thank Him with your whole heart. Thank Him with everything inside you. As you do this you will begin to experience an over whelming joy. That joy is the joy of the Lord and it is your strength. But wait there is more. After giving thanks to God begin to praise Him. Praise Him for who He is. Remember what the scriptures say about our great and mighty God. Remember what a loving Father he is. Praise Him for His magnificent Love which overcomes all. Praise Him for the good God that He is. Close your eyes and praise Him. Allow your whole body to thank and praise Him. Lift your hands, move your feet, dance and sing to the King. Give Him praise for He is good. Don’t allow your mind to get in the way, get loose and truly praise God without limitations. This will lead to a place of worship. Thanksgiving is when we make statements of gratitude, praises is when we speak about God and His goodness but worship is when we speak to God. We have a heart to heart with God in worship. As we do this, accompanied by prayer and spending time in the word, every morning we will experience the presence of God more intensely. This should be done every morning, not just during the fast. Stay Strong, we love and appreciate you all. Blessings.
