Encouraging our fellow Christians is often something we overlook - TopicsExpress

Encouraging our fellow Christians is often something we overlook or forget to do in our everyday lives, but it is a theme that can be found throughout the Bible. As Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Another example can be found in 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11: “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him." Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” We all know what it’s like to go through a difficult time or simply have a bad day, and I bet most of us would agree that nothing can lift your spirit quite like a word of encouragement from a friend, family member, coworker, or even a stranger. Whenever you have a chance, take a moment to build up or edify a brother or sister in Christ! Who will you encourage today?
