Encouraging words always come from interesting places. After a successful spin class, I was on high. The students did well and I had a big group. My warm downs most always consist country or gospel/christian contemporary music. Tonight I played it both in one song, as well as a few other christian songs. While talking to a genteel man after class, I found some common ground. 1st I learned that English is his second language. 2- he told me he loves the christian songs I play. I like the music! I was spinning away and really started to listen to a few songs. Thank God for that reality mentioned in those songs. Which has me thanking Lecrae, and many other christian artist for giving me music that can be played while working out. 3- I learned this man also loves Jesus and spends a little bit of time in discipleship/evangelism, but he feels that his English isnt good enough to share the Gospel hear in the states. he doesnt want for anything to get lost in translation. My only prayer for him is to let God give him the courage to do what he wants to do no matter what the language barrier is here. So yes I will continue to play my Christian music as well as my secular music.
