End Anonymity, Mandate Transparency I would love to find other people who also become annoyed by anonymous non-Native Americans’ operating Facebook pages, or any other internet sites, pages, groups, etc., and who would be willing to join together in approaching the U.S. Department of the Interior, as a lobby/advocacy group requesting that the truth-in-advertising law embodied within The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 also be expanded to cover the need for Truth in Advertising associated with internet locations and their hosts and hosted members. After all, the main precept of The Indian Arts and Crafts Act is to prevent intentional misleading of possible consumers, of which many of the non-Native Americans do, especially when they allow umbrella advertising, via their followers who may not be Indian, but who use the pages and sites as a tool to help them to blend into the mix and they do not even have to say, or write a word, because viewers usually automatically take it for granted that everyone operating, owning, or following claimed Native American online communities are authentic Native American, with many actually leading buyers to pages, etc., where false Native American items are sold. This may be just a dream, but I would love for others to step forward and help to begin and continue a lobbying/advocacy effort of writing, phone calls and physical visits of our government with one goal in mind: To stop the misleading in all areas, not just Arts & Crafts! Do we have the Pride, Self-Respect, Self-Esteem, Intelligence and Education to believe in ourselves yet; to stand up and be counted as legitimate Human Beings, or not? Contact me if you think so and are interested and we will begin. Share this if you believe that Native Americans deserve just as much respect and protection of their Culture as any other race of people does. --Calvin Tatsey
