End of an Era - I dont think so! Queenslands emphatic 32-8 win highlighted the fact while we didnt hold the Origin shield aloft in 2014, the Meninga era of winning trophies is not over! The style that our men played in game 3 was the plan for series; tight and tough, then open up when chance was created or offered. Cronk back guiding the maroons around showed how valuable he is to Queensland and how much we missed him in the first 2 games of the series. The first try in 38 min showed value of DCE and the way he was going to play his part by providing spark at the back end of the half. This game had interesting similarity to game 1; at the same venue with 15 mins on the clock Queensland were on the rampage in both games, the difference being in game 3 the maroons had the polish that surprising didnt show in the opening encounter. With Boyds try in the 70min the flood gates opened and the following two 4 pointers just highlighted what we new; the Mighty Maroons had not shown their best in the first two games, with multiple injuries, questionable decisions, and to their credit, great NSW defence... but when the Blue Wall got a crack in it, it crumbled and the flood gates opened. What next!! Well as I predicted, and you all knew this was never a dead rubber, as QUEENSLANDERS we were never going to just hand over the honour to NSW of being only the 8th team in 32 years to get a prestigious clean sweep. Mal and his men want nothing more then to make this seasons outcome an aberration, and make 2015 the start of the next series winning streak. Age shall not weary them, and our ageing superstars still have a couple of years in them, and with the young brigade coming through, we have what it takes to take back our shield!!
