Ended up in the dish pit all day long. We came into a mess of dishes left over and one of our dishwashers called in sick. I cleared one dish pit, then went to the other before the other dishwasher came in, and I had a steady stream of pans all day long. Tore up my hands, smashed a finger. Even my socks are wet. So they remade the schedule yesterday and chef switched mine and my line partners days off by mistake. This conflicted with my partners plans. So she requested they be swapped back. Chef said hed take care of it. This morning, she asks to keep the swapped schedule this week so she could go to a church event. Ive got no problem with that. We go to tell the chef not to bother switching them this week. He laughs. Its already been fixed and posted. Oh well. Long story short, I dont have tomorrow off as normal, so its an early night for me. I figured Id sneak out for one number and hang out with my friend for a little bit. She just texted me that shell be late getting there because she has something else going on, so I wont see her at all. Karaoke would be solo and I just got used to having someone to talk to.
