Enduring The Storm - We all know that there are ups and downs in life. There will come tests of your faith when your feelings have to be shunned and only your foundational faith will sustain you. As we walk through another storm with our first born, I can tell you that the God whom I worship in the light is the same God that I reach for in the darkness. When you face another storm the weariness wants to take over. But, there are great examples in Gods Word of people just like you and me and their response to a storm. Ever hear of a guy named Elijah? James reminded us that Elijah was a man subject to the same feelings and passions we have. The Bible says that Elijah plopped down under a juniper tree, and ask God to kill him. Now this is the same man, who only hours earlier, was calling down fire from heaven! Even Elijah was weary at times! Everyone has storms, but to realize the worth of the anchor we need to feel the storm! It would be easy to look at the situation and become frustrated or discouraged. If we are not careful we can fall into the trap of becoming a perpetual victim. One scripture that I love are these words And it came to pass - in these words I find strength and say praise God it did not come to stay! So stand on what you believe, the storms will give you endurance to bring glory and honor to Jesus! Our trials are opportunities to prove what we believe!
