Enduro rant. Sometimes I really scratch my head about the direction of enduro in Australia. How is it that kids running 5th and 6th in junior state rounds are making more of an effort to present and promote themselves professionally than many of the top 50 fastest riders in the country. Im certainly not an expert on everything but if we want the sport to see more passionate fans and more financial support (sponsorship), our pro riders (or all riders for that matter) need to be promoting themselves. Ive heard my share of whinging about how little support there is at the top level but I see even less self promotion. A logo on a rear fender does nothing for a supporter. A photo after each Aussie round thanking your sponsors is not enough. Stop wanting to be as popular as Toby Price and start emulating his activity away from the track. Be active in promoting your sponsors and yourself and the whole sport will flourish as a result.
