Energy Data Consultant - Data Services City of London, United Kingdom Reference SMART-JB939 Contract type Permanent London WC2N 6LU Do you have a deep seated desire to make a significant impact in the carbon reduction / sustainability space? Would you like to work for a leading London based Carbon, Energy and Sustainability advisory firm with over 120 clients consisting of mostly FTSE 350 and large public sector organisations? You will: * Support the deployment of complex and continuously improving energy data collection, analytics and reporting projects, * Provide new ideas and approaches to making our data programmes more interesting and more robust. The primary focus will be in the deployment of energy data programmes to manage Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) and other compliance requirements and to improve on corporate energy performance. You must be at home in discussing more technical parts of energy management and energy reduction and understand how that fits within a wider sustainability strategy and programme. Key elements of the role will include: * Providing quality insight & reports that adhere to our values: Integrity, Curiosity and Excellence * Technical programme and project management * A deep understanding of the important role that a consultant plays in supporting clients and stakeholders in learning and growing from a data and information programme * Support the leadership of data services and perform the role of quality manager for many projects, and project manage others * Working effectively and directly with clients to ensure project objectives are delivered You will support the Data Services team in providing leadership and insight to the Data Services team. This includes management of direct reports but also being an exemplar and knowledge leader, and quality managing the outputs of more junior staff. You will also play an active role in the development of interns who join us as part of our intern programme This role is best suited for a candidate who: * Enjoys interaction with clients and other project stakeholders * Has the capability and drive to take on project delivery responsibility * Has the ambition to continually develop their leadership skills * Demonstrates our core values: Integrity, Curiosity and Excellence * Wishes to be exposed to large and high profile clients in London and across the UK * Demands a high level of quality from themselves and colleagues * Would thrive working within an environment of excellence * 3-5 years minimum experience in a similar role * BSc/BEng/BA in a numeric discipline, and probably an MSc in an environmental/sustainability field * Thorough and demonstrable understanding of energy data structures and flows * CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme and related primary evidence understanding * Knowledge of UK energy and sustainability data types and flows * Ability to perform energy analysis and confidently deduce energy profiles of sites and organisations * Experience with analysis metrics and the development of KPIs and targets * Expertise in Greenhouse Gas reporting and able to confidently lead a footprinting project or analysis * Great client and team relations skills * Understand the roles and responsibilities of a trusted advisor * Uphold team values, aims to be an exemplar to the team * Able to develop programme architectures with clients needs in mind * Sound understanding of direct sustainability impacts * Beyond energy to water, socio-economic and waste * Be conversant in reporting programmes such as GRI, CDP, DJSI, etc * Proven project management skills About Us Carbon Credentials has been helping businesses to navigate on their sustainability journeys since 2009.
