Energy Psychotherapy – the astonishing synergy of mind and body with Dr Phil Mollon Saturday February 8th 2014 10.00am. – 4.00pm at The Quaker Meeting House 22 School Lane, Liverpool, L1 3BT Booking Deadline: Friday January 24th 2014 In recent years a family of therapeutic modalities have developed which combine attention to the mind with gentle self-stimulation of the body’s subtle energy field. It has become apparent that all forms of distress in the mind (and body) are patterned as information in the subtle energy systems of meridians and chakras (and other parts of the energetic anatomy). Dr Mollon finds that by working with this synergy of the mind and the body’s energy system concurrently, a depth and speed of resolution of emotional problems occurs that would be unimaginable when using purely talk-based forms of psychotherapy. The energy psychotherapies do not invalidate more conventional psychotherapies – indeed, all the usual skills and knowledge of psychotherapy are crucially important – but provide an additional dimension that allows the practitioner to work at the level where the dysfunctional patterns of emotion and behaviour are encoded. This makes the therapeutic process deeper, quicker and more effective. ♦♦♦♦♦ The emphasis of the day will be upon Dr Mollon’s particular approach called Psychoanalytic Energy Psychotherapy, deriving from his integration of knowledge of the body’s energy fields with the insights of psychoanalysis. ♦♦♦♦♦ Learning Outcomes Participants will: • Understand the history and evolution of energy psychotherapy - with an awareness of the main approaches within this field • Understand some of the key phenomena and principles that have been revealed through therapeutic explorations of the energy system • Witness live demonstrations of these phenomena and their therapeutic potential • Learn several simple procedures they can immediately use safely with clients • Learn simple ways of relieving their own distress and stress • Learn how to flush away adverse energy patterns and entanglements derived from clients/patients • be aware of the accumulating research demonstrating the effectiveness of energy psychology modalities • be aware of ethical and professional issues arising in the use of energy psychology Trainer: Dr Phil Mollon is a psychoanalyst, psychotherapist and clinical psychologist.
