Enfusion Live report from ringside in Merseburg, Germany 4th October 2014 By Peter Lowe “The man in the know” (Enfusion MC) Mohamed “Big Mo” Boubkari of Morocco is the new -95Kg Enfusion Champion after a unanimous points decision win against Russia’s Niko Falin. In a sport chock full of tough men and women these two managed to produce a real hard mans fight. Boubkari seemed to hurt the Russians right leg with low kicks inside the first minute of the contest and continued to whip in hurtful kicks at the same leg throughout the contest. The exciting Moroccan stood in range throughout the duration of the bout, taking Falin’s punch combinations on the gloves and arms and then responding with his own explosive combos. Towards the end of the second round Falin seemed lucky to not receive a count after dropping to the canvas from a partially blocked head kick. With rounds three and four following a similar pattern many at ringside wondered just how many more leg kicks the big Russian could take but remarkably he was still in the contest in the 5th as he marched through the pain and willed himself forward throwing the same punch combo’s and occasional knees to remain competitive. Boubkari however proved to be a level above winning every round on the judge’s scorecard to claim the vacant title via a unanimous points win. Morocco’s Illias “The Blade” Bulaid won via unanimous point’s decision against Germany’s Mark Vogel. Bulaid made his usual fast start landing big overhand rights followed by knees and some vicious kicks high and low. Vogel, who did appear to be the bigger man, soaked up all the punishment however and would keep responding with combinations of his own. In an attempt to slow the whirlwind like Moroccan down Vogel seemed to target his opponent’s legs in the second session. With Illias looking to land his single shot bombs and even landing a nasty head kick that would have put lesser fighters away the German managed to earn a share of the round on the judge’s cards with his high work rate. Bulaid however is a man with several gears at his disposal and came out blasting in the final session pinning Vogel in the neutral corner with fast, eye catching punch combinations. The German did well to get out of danger and continue throwing back but Bulaid took the round with his varied, lightening fast kicks including a spinning head kick that landed late in the round. Bulaid is a man on a mission and improves to 139 wins out of 146 contests. Mohammed “The Destroyer” Jaraya (Morocco) won via TKO in the second round against German Leo Bonniger and in doing so picked up the Enfusion fighter of the night cheque. Jaraya started round one quickly and threatened to overwhelm his German opponent with punch and kick combinations, having particular success with the left hook to the body and head. With 45 seconds left in the round Jaraya landed a countering left hook to the chin that dumped Bonniger on to the canvas for an eight count. Although he did well to beat the count and make it to the end of the round the writing was on the wall as Mohammed moved in for the finish at the start of the second round. After taking some heavy punishment Bonniger suddenly raised his hand to get the referee’s attention. The referee admistered a count but upon seeing Leo’s reluctance to carry on rightly waved the contest over and awarded the Moroccan a TKO win. The end came at 1.55 of the 2nd round. 18 year old Fabio Kwasi of Holland won via TKO in the very first round against Germany’s Enrico Rogge. Looking heavy handed as he came forward throwing thumping punches, it wasn’t long before Kwasi landed a devastating left kick to the liver that bent the German over and caused him to sag to the canvas. Rogge beat the count but soon after marched right into a left hook and knee to the head that once more had him on the deck. The referee waved the action off at 1.55 of the first round. Holland’s Mellony Geugjes won via unanimous point’s decision over Turkey’s Dilara Yildiz. In a bout that never really caught fire the two fighters were able to virtually cancel each other out. Geugjes pressed forward from the start but often walked straight on to some well timed front kicks from her taller adversary. In contrast Mellony would close the distance and unload with bunches of punches many of which were smothered. The judges were unable to split the pair after the first two rounds leaving it all to do in the third. The Dutch ladies aggression probably won her the fight as she continued her forward march forcing Yildiz to clinch and knee, many of which were ineffective, when up close. Geugjes improves to 22 wins from 31 contests. Max Baumert (Germany) won via unanimous point’s decision against Albanian Valdet Gashi. The taller Baumert took the first two rounds clearly, befuddling the tough Albanian with his foot work and clean crisp combinations to body and head. With two rounds in the bank the German raised the pace further sending sweat spray flying from the head of Gashi on several occasions as he continued to land clean head punches. Showing a lot of toughness but very few ideas as to how to turn the bout in his favour Valdet continued to eat a variety of kicks, punches and knees right up until the final bell. Baumert improves to 24 wins (13 KO’s) and 4 losses. Fighting Talents Morocco’s Ibrahim El Boustati remained undefeated and won via TKO at 2.36 of the third round against Bulgaria’s Aleksandur Petrov. Boustati improves to 31 wins in 31 contests (12 KO’s). Vincent Foschiani (Italy) won via KO in the first round against alternative replacement Maik Brandel of Germany to win the special Enfusion -65kg four man tournament. He also KO’d Holland’s Rakim Bell after 28 seconds of the second round enroute to the final. Koray Gul (Turkey) won via split decision against German Maik Brandel. Germany’s Kevin Burmester won via unanimous point’s decision against fellow country man Dennis Wosik. Roman Palamar (Germany) won via unanimous point’s decision after a fourth deciding round against compatriot Oguz Usta. Germany’s Michael “Horse Leg” Lorenz won via TKO after 2.46 of the first round against fellow German Christian Brorhilker.
