Engaging shoulder blades and upper back in Chaturanga Dandasana - TopicsExpress

Engaging shoulder blades and upper back in Chaturanga Dandasana (yoga push-up) is crucial for yoga practice safety. Its part of Power yoga 101 in order to minimize potential shoulder injuries with rigorous and repeated Chaturanga Dandasana throughout the practice sequence. I was lucky to have an experienced bodybuilder in my Power yoga class to pinpoint muscles involved to the class while I was doing a slow-moving demonstration. CAUTIONS: - Always consult your medical professionals before starting any exercises. - Yoga is best practiced under the supervision of certified yoga instructors. - Always practice with awareness and listen to your body. - Safety comes first. Let go the ego! - Do NOT practice inversions if you have severe shoulder and/or neck injuries, hypertension and menses. #yogabyjon #yogaformen #poweryoga #hathayoga #chaturangadandasana #yogapushup #howtoyogapose #bodybuilding #fitness
