Engineer - Procurement - NBTC Group: • Act professionally and with due diligence at all times to fully safeguard the interests of the Company in all business activities. • Ensure direct, effective and timely communications, request for actions, and responses to requests, routine reporting and sharing important information to Management, Project Managers, Heads of Department, Lead Engineers, other Procurement Engineers and all supervised staff, conducting routine and working meetings as appropriate. • Participate in meetings with the Project Manager, Head of Department, Lead Engineer, Client and third parties, to communicate and clarify interfaces, requests, decisions, approvals, proposals, status, responses etc. • Prepare purchase orders or requisitions for materials. Vendor selection and periodic evaluation as per the procedures. Be fair and unbiased while dealing with vendors. Recommend Vendors who meet all Company/ Clients requirements. • Leads supplier selection, contract development, negotiation, and ongoing supplier management. • Review tender, contract / subcontract or order documents for terms and conditions, and other comments for consideration and evaluate commercial terms. • Preparation and implementation of comprehensive Procurement Procedures and work instructions for Procurement team use. • Advice Engineers when the design should be biased towards available or preferred materials. • Perform discipline check for the documents as required by the Head of Department. • Maintain current approved Client subcontractors lists on all approved / qualified subcontractors i.e. (suppliers, manufacturers, fabricators and inspection & testing sub contractors). • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process. • Establishes best practices and benchmarking for common procurement processes across the business groups. • Provide performance reporting and conduct supplier review processes. • Assist with vendor delivery and logistics. • Adhere to Company Quality System, policies and procedures. • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department. • Maintain a record of important communications for reference as required. • Issue Purchase Orders and approve invoices of payment.
