Engineer: LAN Applications are invited for the post of Engineer: LAN Department : Information Systems Reports to : Chief Information Systems Officer Closing date 24 September 2013 Location : MTN South Sudan Head Office MISSION/CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To support the IP business Network design, structure and to sustain stability / performance of the relevant band environment at the MTN South Sudan IT functions. Should provide short and medium term support and administrative work for business connectivity purpose. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitor and manage ITSM alerts and related process management. • Responsible to maintain and support office connectivity to MSC, DC server farms, Internet, GIS. • Responsible to provide proper and functional connectivity to remote areas/regions as part of LAN. • Responsible to consider security policy and processes, concerning fire walls, fortinets and domain login. • Responsible of tight secure VLAN structure that match the access security goal. • Administration, operation, monitoring and maintenance of connectivity between HQ and the destinations as required. • Responsible to document the network design and amend at every change (keep change history) • Responsible to apply set of procedures and to verify and monitor on daily basis the network LAN components and their integrity. • Sustain change management process with proper documentation and library history booklet of all the changes • Sustain administrative document for all activities, tasks and functions applied in the LAN operation and maintenance • To gain operation excellency, sustain internal and cross-functional processes with related procedures and policies • Responsible of information configuration backup and historical backup/archive in proper and safe storage environment. • Contributes and cooperates in the System integration and installation. • Responsible of public and internal IP management and resolution; DHCP operation and maintenance. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: • IT technical certificate • BSc in computing engineering / computer science Experience: • 3 years’ experience in IT end user office equipment support KNOWLEDGE • ITIL standards • Problem solving • Reporting • Technical knowledge PC, LAN/WAN, logical Security access TRAINING • ITIL standard • CCNA and CCNP • Access Security • MCSE SKILLS • Ability to work under pressure • Advanced communication; interpersonal and reporting skills • Analytical skills • Data analysis skills • Information management • Negotiation skills • Project management • Risk assessment • Risk management Preference will be given to South Sudanese nationals.
