I am also a mother to two wonderful sons, one of which is autistic and diabetic and usually have a house full of Furbabies. Many scientific studies have shown that our olfactory perception affects everything from our mood, to behavior to productivity. In fact, “ 75% of emotions are triggered by smell which is linked to pleasure, well-being, emotion and memory.” It’s why shops, casinos and hotels pipe in various scents through the vents to make you relax and feel indulgent. Over time people may lose their sense of smell while others’ sense are affected by your genes but overall they are many factors like gender, familiarity, memory, and seasons that affect our sense and sensibilities.
