Engineering Scholarships In South Africa @ nwu.ac.za/nwu/index.html Scholarship Description: The North-West University (NWU) is offering a postdoctoral research fellowship for undertaking a research project in Energy and Engineering. The contract will be awarded for an initial period of 1 year, renewable for a second and third year subject to the candidate showing satisfactory progress in his/her research project. The work will commence January 2014. To be eligible for this fellowship, the applicant must have obtained a PhD degree and must have an engineering background. The scheme is open to nationals of all countries. The closing date for applications is 30 November 2013. Area of Study: Fellowship is awarded in the field of Energy and Engineering. Course Level: Fellowship is awarded to postdoctoral fellow for undertaking a research project at North-West University (NWU). Scholarship Source: The North-West University (NWU) Eligibility: -A PhD degree obtained no later than 2010 from a reputable university is mandatory. -The candidate should be under 40 years of age. -Candidates should be fluent in English. -The candidate must have an engineering background. -Candidates should have an excellent academic record and research potential. -The scheme is open to nationals of all countries. Target Students: Applicants of all countries are eligible for this fellowship. Tenure of Scholarships: The contract will be awarded for an initial period of 1 year, renewable for a second and third year subject to the candidate showing satisfactory progress in his/her research project. Scholarships Strength: The value of the fellowship will be approximately R 150 000 (ZAR – South African currency) per annum. A further amount of R 20 000 per annum will be made available for running costs. A once off amount to a maximum of R 20 000 will be made available for relocation costs. This will include transportation of the postdoctoral fellow and his/her belongings.
