Engineers Without Borders Asia is a completely volunteer-run organization, and we are constantly on the lookout for people with project management, volunteer management, marketing, communications, business development, graphic design and other skills. We welcome anyone passionate about development to apply to join our team. 1. Head, Program Development committee The function of the program development committee is to form partnerships with local community-based organizations that can benefit from the engineering support that EWB-Asia provides, and to develop volunteer programs with them. Volunteer roles: ● To seek, develop and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations in Singapore and developing countries overseas ● To be available to conduct recce and follow-up trips to our overseas partners ● To monitor and evaluate partnerships regularly to ensure they remain in line with the goals of EWB-Asia and best practices in development Qualities we are looking for: ● Driven and proactive ● Passion for doing good ● Experience in international development 2. Head, Engagement committee The function of the engagement committee is to engage volunteers and members in the work of EWB-Asia, through volunteer management and member activities. Volunteer roles: ● To recruit and match volunteers with available placements in local and overseas projects ● To develop a pre-departure training program (for overseas placements) and local training program to adequately prepare volunteers in preparation for their placements ● To organize monthly seminars for members to learn more about various aspects of humanitarian engineering ● To manage the start-up of student chapters in various tertiary institutions Qualities we are looking for: ● Driven and proactive ● Passion for doing good ● Enjoy networking and connecting with people 3. Organizing committee, EWB-Asia official launch event The official launch of EWB-Asia has been set on the weekend of 16-17 August, in commemoration of World Humanitarian Day. The launch will be a platform for all our development partners, corporate partners, beneficiaries, volunteers, members and other groups and individuals with a stake in engineering for development to come together and exchange ideas and networks. We are looking to form a passionate team of volunteers who can work together with EWB-Asia to make this event a reality. Volunteer roles: ● Event chairperson: To manage the event, oversee and make key decisions to ensure that event planning and execution runs smoothly ● Program manager: To plan the event program, engage speakers and other parties that are part of the program, and ensure the program runs according to plan ● Liaison officer: To connect with existing and potential sponsors and partners to secure their support for the event ● Publicity coordinator: To market the event through design and branding, promotion and advertising through various media and publicity channels ● Logistics coordinator: To handle all logistical requirements before and during the event Qualities we are looking for: ● Driven and proactive ● Passion for doing good ● Experience in event organization Commitment period: April - August 2014
