Enjoy the promises of God: Parents are you taking credit for your children’s achievements, or are you blaming yourselves for their lack of success or accomplishments? Young men and women, are you blaming your lack of success or achievements on your parents, friends, relatives or even the devil? This is what the Lord says “For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.” Ez 18:4 The blame game did not work with God at the time of Adam, and it will not work with God or anyone else now. God provided humans with choices, good and evil, and His continuous advise for us is to choose what is good. God also provided the means by which humans can choose and attain what is good. Good and bad are still available, and our free will to choose is also available. We must all remember that there are rewards and consequences for our choices as it was in the beginning. Paul writes, ”Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” Gal 6:7. But please remember what James writes “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5 That is why you are without excuse. Parents, it is your responsibility, however, to raise your children in the fear of the Lord, by word and deed. Children it is your choice and you cannot blame anyone but yourselves because you chose, so please choose what is good. Tune in later to learn about more of His promises. Victor
