Enjoyed one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday with my beloved --- pizza and wine at the Luggage Room followed by a film at the Pasadena Playhouse 7, a theatre that shows only art house and independent movies. Tracks is a compelling Australian feature about the 1977 journey of Robyn Davidson, a resourceful young Australian woman who walked 2,000 miles across the harsh terrain of the Outback all the way to the ocean with only her faithful dog and four camels for company (although she also was guided for a period by an Aboriginal elder who shepherded her through a stretch of sacred Aboriginal land...) The pace was slow and meditative, with little dialogue, letting the emotions of the actress portraying Davidson and the eloquence of the earth itself tell the story...Every woman should see this film, but particularly young women who are only beginning to intuit all of the capabilities that lie inside...
