Enjoyed watching The Lone Ranger yesterday. It is a fun movie (always like Johnny Depp!) Supposedly set in 1868, it was interesting to see the band playing such modern instruments (not a rotary or rear-facing instrument in sight) and playing songs such as "The Stars and Stripes forever" and "The Star Spangled Banner" ....according to Wikipedia... "In his autobiography, Marching Along, Sousa wrote that he composed the march on Christmas Day, 1896." AND ""The Star-Spangled Banner" was recognized for official use by the Navy in 1889, and by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916, and was made the national anthem by a congressional resolution on March 3, 1931 (46 Stat. 1508, codified at 36 U.S.C. § 301), which was signed by President Herbert Hoover." They rely should have consulted Jari Villanueva and a few other experts.
