Enjoying a ramen on my own at a local Japanese Ramen joint, I had the pleasure of overhearing this conversation between the chef, the waitress (who, if had a another brain it would be lonely) and the manager. Chef (working behind the counter I am sat at) - table 5 would like a cook please W - a cook? C - yes. Table 5. W - with a confused look on her face she reluctantly walks over to table 5. 20 seconds later she returns to the chef... W - (even more confused) what you say about table 5? C - a cook W - ???? C - A COOK! Manager - what is the problem? W - table 5 want a cook M - they want a what??? C - a cook...for table 5 Not being able to bare the inept communication skills between the 3 of them any longer, I interrupt them all.. Me - please could one of you just get a coke to table 5... Too painful.
