Enough people attended the Agency public hearing to move it to the community center. I do see speeding in my neighborhood, where they fly across the railroad tracks on Alpine Road to get the BP. East bound on main street, many are going 50-70 mph by the time they get to our house. What my take away was; The mayor and council are trying to respond to peoples concerns and want Agency safe. More stop signs and visual reminders will be in place soon. Being a good neighbor would include communication to the person who is causing the conflict. The council cannot approach offenders. If the law is being broken, call the Wapello County Sheriff Reserves (actually 911 if an emergency). Many people who attended would like a stronger presence of law enforcement in town. I did have to mention I see them here. Deputies have even sat in our driveway to catch speeders. Yards or parks are where children should play. Streets are paid for by taxes to drive on. We need to watch out for each other and obey the laws. Being from EMS, I personally dont believe children should be playing in the streets. Then it spilled over to golf carts, 4 wheelers and go carts. Agency does not have any ordinances at this time, but have looked at the ones in neighboring towns. Off road vehicles, are to be off road. Being old enough to drive these vehicles and safety was discussed.
