>>> Enroll your name by tommorow(29th November 2013) in the voters list to have vote for the upcoming General Election. Thanks You have three days to enrol in the voters list with November 29 being the last date to ensure your name figures in the Karnataka master electoral rolls. The list will be published on January 6. The good news is that updation will continue till the day before filing of nomination for elections ends. State Chief Election Officer Anil Kumar Jha told TOI on Tuesday that about 100 online applications have been received since the draft rolls were published on October 30. If youre unable to find your area on the website, walk into a nearby Bangalore One centre and get enrolled. Ward offices too are voter facilitation centres. Meanwhile, residents in many parts of Bangalore complain theyre unable to enrol online through the website. Ive tried for about two months. I moved into my own apartment in Dr SRK Nagar in Thanisandra. I got my Aadhaar card from this address and the post office in Thanisandra. But now I cant find the post office in the website and I cant submit my form, said Dipannita Ghosh Biswas. Jha explained: If youre unable to find your area on the website, go to a Bangalore One centre and get enrolled. Or, you could go to the BBMP ward office. You can call the BBMPs toll-free helpline and ask for enrollment facilities for an entire apartment complex or office or layout or college and BBMP will send its mobile vans for it, he said. He said after the closure for enrollment, field officers will do the physical verification. The biggest problem is duplication. Most new voters who have either migrated within the city, state or from outside the state do not disclose their credentials, if any, from their previous address. This causes duplication. I cannot delete the names until its physically verified that the person by the same name doesnt live in another place. That is tedious because there would be hundreds of corrections and verifications, he explained. One person cannot have two voter ID cards from two residences. If a person wants to vote from the present residence, we can delete his registration in the other electoral roll. If you still want to vote from Bangalore, you only need to enrol in the Bangalore voter list and still hold the old EPIC number, he explained. BBMP is the main registering authority for Bangalore constituencies. Form 6 - New enrollment * Who can enroll - should be 18 years old or more and a person shifting her place of ordinary residence outside the constituency where shes already registered * Proof of address like bank or post office pass book, ration card, drivers licence, IT assessment order, water, telephone or electricity bill, gas connection bill or post received or delivered from the address * Declaration: If your name is already included in the electoral roll of any other constituency, or if you already have been issued with a photo identity card by the Election Commission, mention the card number and date of issue of the card in the space provided. Form 7- For deletion * Who can file: Person willing to be included in a new constituency to seek deletion of name in another roll * Declaration -- Applicant must give a declaration on facts and particulars mentioned and from which area she resides. Giving a false declaration is punishable under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 Form 8 - For correction * Can be filed by a person whose name is in the electoral roll seeking correction to her particulars already printed in it
