Ensign Energy adds to rig build program Ensign Energy Services Inc. plans to accelerate its rig building this year and next as industry optimism ramps up for stronger producer exploration spending. The second-largest Calgary driller by market capitalization said Monday it now plans to build 26 new advanced rigs to be distributed in Canada On Monday, Ensign reported net income of $60 million on revenue of $624 million in the first quarter of 2014, versus net income of $65 million on revenue of $581 million a year earlier.
