Entered into Rest March 31, 2014 Service Saturday, April 5, 2014 10:00 AM Church of Our Saviour Richard (Rick) M. Anderson, 65 of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Mill Run Garden and Care Center. He was born February 12, 1949 in Urbana, Ohio. Rick was a 1967 graduate of the Staunton Military Academy, Staunton, VA and a graduate of Ohio Dominican College. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.Rick was employed in the past with Farmer™s Bank, Citizens National Bank, Champaign National Bank and currently was employed with The Peoples Savings Bank. He was a member of Mechanicsburg Lion Club and the Ohio Bankers Association.He has proudly served on the boards of the Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools, Champaign County Chamber of Commerce, Maple Grove Cemetery, Champaign County Education Foundation, Campaign Treasurer for the Champaign County Prosecutor, Campaign Treasurer for Mechanicsburg Library Levy, Urbana Country Club and a 4-H Advisor and for the past 29 years on the Champaign Residential Services Board. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rita (Cushman) Anderson, his children, Mary (Mea) A. (Jacob) Reiser of Mechanicsburg, Eva M. (Bert) Hockenberry of Charlotte, NC and Clinton W. (Jennifer) Anderson of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren, Cole, Anderson, William, Caleigh, Sophia and Jack; his brother, Alex (Mary) Anderson of Hilliard, sisters-in-law, Gertrude S. Leach of London, Ruth E. (Charles) Wibright of Mechanicsburg, M. Lynne Davisson of Cable and Betsy L. Keys of Dublin; brother-in-law, James G. (Peggy) Cushman of Mechanicsburg; as well as several nieces & nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Richard E. and Sarah Elizabeth (McCoy) Anderson, his aunt, Mary Jane (McCoy) Jenkins and his uncle, Judge William Jenkins; sister-in-law, Jeanne A. (Wayne R.) Snyder; brothers-in-law, Mark W. Cushman and John D. Cushman. A memorial service to celebrate Ricks life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2014 at the Church of Our Saviour, Mechanicsburg with the Rev. Rick McCracken-Bennett, Rector. Services are entrusted to SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O.
