Entrepreneurs in Residence/Incubation | Deshpande Foundation Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR) incubates aspiring entrepreneurs. Incubation at EIR provides physical space, a supporting network, initial financial support, and ongoing mentorship until the new enterprise stabilizes. Through the EIR program, the foundation works to elicit growth of entrepreneurs in Northwest Karnataka EIR engagement enables entrepreneurs to: Sandbox Access- an ecosystem where experts receive feedback and mentorship at various stages of business development. Financial Seeding- funding during the initial period of enterprise formation. Market Connection- Exposure and visibility through DF events such as Development Dialogue. EIR entrepreneur participants are from rural and urban backgrounds range from mid-level professionals from IT industry to fresh graduates of DET fellowship programs. These entrepreneurs pursue their own ideas and work with a variety of models to make their ideas a success. These models include, the development of cutting edge technologies to low cost water harvesting models. Since 2010, the Deshpande Foundation has incubated several ideas, entrepreneurs and enterprise. Consequently, 13 enterprises have found their creation through the EIR program.
