For more information, visit the companys website at ge Posted Position Title: Entry Level Field Engineer Career Level: EL Function: Services Function Segment: Field Services Location: Oman U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: City: Muscat Postal Code: N/A Relocation Assistance: No Role Summary/Purpose: GE O&G is looking to hire and train Entry Level Field Service Engineers to be autonomous Specialists in 6 months time. They will undertake an intensive 10 week Development Program made of a combination of Classroom Training, Hands On and On the Job Training in order to be able to deliver high quality standard and expertise to our customers. Essential Responsibilities: The Entry Level Field Service Engineer will be trained in the management of site activities including planning, assigning manpower resources and tools, providing technical assistance to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. In particular, he/she will learn to: - Supervise the installation, maintenance , repair of Gas turbine or Steam turbine or Centrifugal compressor following GE procedure and recommendation - Supervise the mechanical removal / installation activities of main and auxiliary equipment. - Supervise and perform Geometric dimensional check of foundation, equipment and auxiliaries skids positioning, and levelling alignment. - Work closely with Instrumentation specialist during the installation, calibration and set-up o electrical instrumentation (such as vibration probes, temperature elements, I/P converters, etc.) - Assist Start-up Engineer during the commissioning and startup phase ensuring proper and safe operation of the machine by evaluating the running parameters and troubleshoot control system problem as they arise. - Ensure all in-field activities carried out safely complying with company environmental health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures. - Provide external and internal timely and accurate professional reports - Act as a point of contact between Customers and GE Oil & Gas Headquarter concerning technical issues and interface with all involved functions - Use company e-tools to retrieve technical documents and management of packing list, bill of material and drawings - Maintain strong EHS and Quality mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE EHS and Quality standards Qualifications/Requirements: - Mechanical Engineering Degree from Sultan Qaboos University- priorities & preferable - 0 to 2 years experience in technical role - Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings (auxiliaries systems, construction dwg, P&ID & schematics) - Very good English- fluent on both spoken and written - Availability to frequent travel worldwide (on and off-shore) - Strong analytic and problem solving skills - Good interpersonal & organizational skill - Good communication skill - Familiar and skill on common PC software tools - Basic theoretical physical / thermodynamic fundamental - Good knowledge of electronics/electrics measurements - Basic knowledge of industrial process.
